Winners Ranking the Grower

Last week, René van Dop (26) and Michael Zwinkels (25) won the title ‘Ranking the Grower’. This is an annual grower of the year election in Holland, organized by KAS Magazine. This year’s theme was about the most enterprising young growers. All candidates were (co-)owner or partner in a production company and they weren’t older than 30 years. Fides congratulated the winners with a beautiful and tasteful pie.

In the category cut flowers, Michael Zwinkels of Chrysanthemum company Theo Zwinkels (Maasland, the Netherlands) showed how you can perfectly run things well in a company. According to the jury, Michael is an entrepreneur with a deliberate market approach and an own working registration system. He has a tight control about the cost prize, which is essential for cut Chrysanthemums.

In the category Pot plants, René van Dop of Kalanchoe nursery Solisplant in ’s-Gravenzande won the title Ranking the Grower. He started a new Kalanchoe company and with doing great business and making the right choices, his company succeeded not to fail in the crisis year 2009.
