We are looking for a Breeding Intern Chrysanthemum for our Breeding Department in De Lier.

Internship content
Are you analytically strong, can you report, do you work accurately, and are you studying biology, plant breeding, or in the agricultural sector? Then we have the perfect internship for you!

Dümmen Orange breeds ornamental crops at several locations in the Netherlands but also abroad. The crops can be divided in bedding plants, tropicals, cut flowers, perennials and bulbs. Among these different business units the breeding team for cut Chrysanthemum will be welcoming you! As a Breeding Intern you will work around different aspects of the breeding process, focusing on (quantitatively) phenotyping flowering plants, performing shelf-life trials or participating in the operational tasks of the team. Our projects need an internship of at least 4 months, and can be applied for MBO or HBO/BSc educational level.

Examples:

  • Compare experimental set-ups: post-harvest treatments, Plant Growth Regulator use.
  • Capture quantitative phenotypes in ornamental trials.
  • Improve steps of the breeding program.

  • You are currently following a study in plant breeding, biology or in the agricultural sector.
  • You are eager to learn, dare to take initiative and suggest improvements.
  • You are analytically strong, can report on these matters and work accurately.
